Big Chetac Lake
Nystrom’s Resort is nestled on the peaceful shores of Big Chetac Lake in Birchwood, Wisconsin.
Big Chetac spans more than 1,900 acres with 26 miles of shoreline and is known as one of Wisconsin’s best fishing lakes — often called the “Bluegill Capital.” Anglers will also find walleye, northern pike, bass, and panfish in abundance.
The lake connects by channel to Birch Lake, offering even more room to explore by boat, kayak, or paddle board. Its sandy shallows, islands, and bays make it as welcoming for families wading at the water’s edge as it is for serious fishermen.
Whether you’re chasing a sunrise bite, watching eagles soar overhead, or enjoying a swim on the sandbar, Big Chetac Lake is the heartbeat of life at Nystrom’s Resort.

Nystrom’s guests receive priority booking, but when boats are available we welcome public rentals for visitors enjoying the lake.
